Subject: Jomsocial - by: fentiger http://www.joomlasuffolk.co.uk/General-chat/54-Jomsocial.html#54 http://www.joomlasuffolk.co.uk/General-chat/54-Jomsocial.html#54 Got it up and running OK and also opened an Amazon AWS account. This where the fun begins, I can't get the photos etc onto AWS S3. I understand I need to run cron, have picked up the instructions on the Jomsocial site but can't get them to work, anyone got any ideas?
Asking here because the Jomsocial support is so slow!

My current provider is not allowing installation of Akeeba backup on my hosted site Joomla panel, but has sent me a copy of the sql database file and what looks like a full set of site file folders. I could try to argue this but given I have the files can anyone help me with advice on how to get them into my 1.5 running on a macbook pro with MAMP and currently sample data?]]>

  • Supporting UK-based Joomla! events

It was decided that a fee of £5 per month would be an acceptable amount for members to pay. Therefore we have amended all future events to be £5 per person - with a coupon code for new members to use against their first visit.

Thank you to all our members for your continued support, we look forward to seeing the group grow and prosper in 2012!

Speakers and their subject matters apart, one of the biggest benefits I get from the meeting is all the really useful tips I pick up as asides in the conversation in the room.

Also, thanks for the prize draw for a free licence for JOMSOCIAL. I will put my winnings to good use!

Just to let you know, the Jomsocial folks have given us a free license and two discount codes for people to win at our January meeting.

We're going to be covering migrating to 1.7.x, and in the second half, installing/configuring/templating/integrating JomSocial.

Make sure you book your place to ensure we have enough space!
