Hi,

Until last year I was teaching journalism on a post grad course at the University of Westminister. I came to Joomla because we needed to update the way we taught online journalism. A CMS was essential as that is how all the major media sites work and short of having a custom system Joomla seemed to me to have a lot of advantages -- in particular the ease of use by students both at the front end and back end.

This year I have set up another media rich site for radio, tv and print journalism teaching at the University of Winchester.

I am also running a site for the first Debenham Arts Festival. For me it is also a test-bed for the organisation and pitfalls of user contribution, which is an increasingly important part of all media sites.

Hi Andrew,

Have you looked at the iJoomla components at all?  I'm currently supporting a site which runs this component and I have to say, it works quite nicely for a news-based portal site.

Looking forward to meeting you this evening :)
