Log-In / Log-Out results in a 'page not found' error, but using the back button, or reloading the original pages shows that log-in / log-out was successful... this issued was resolved locally by turning off SEF URLs and (possibly) tweaking .htaccess - however, neither seem to resolve the problem on the live site... any suggestions ?

If anyone comes across this and looking for a solution, try turning off the Jomsocial redirection plugin!

Nope - not quite that simple - uploaded to the actual (rather than test) domain, turned off jomsocialredirect - thinking easy-peasy... doesn't work this time..!!
Back to error messages at log-in / log-out.... help anyone !

Turn off SEF URL's and check out what URL's it is redirecting to - also make sure your htaccess doesn't have a rewritebase set.

same with or without SEF URLs

Use rewriting ON in settings - commented out in .htaccess - breaks site / not commented out - still broken - access denied error.

rewriting OFF - site available again

same issue - log-in redirects to page not found, browser back button - proves log-in / log-out worked.. tried changing home page as before, as well as turing on / off jomsocialredirect - still no joy...

support ticket submitted to jomsocial - fingers crossed for a simple solution and will keep you updated..!
